Head Gardener and First Gardener roles starting salary £22,187

Head Gardener Drum Castle
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our horticultural team as Head Gardener at an important time in the future development of one of our well known gardens. The post holder will provide management and leadership of the garden team ensuring that the gardens and specific areas of the designed landscape are restored, presented and maintained in line with the Conservation Plan and the Trust’s high standards and conservation principles. Head Gardener Leith Hall
Leith Hall, an A-listed, 17th-century quadrangular house was gifted to the National Trust for Scotland in 1945. The garden comprises a B-listed walled garden divided into East and West sections containing an impressive Arts-and-Craft’s rock garden currently undergoing restoration; a 100m long herbaceous border, iconic Catmint border, shrubberies, lawns, vegetable garden, small glasshouse and plant sales table, stream and specimen trees and shrubs.  More information

First Gardener Arduaine
Arduaine Garden is a tranquil green oasis on the south slope of the Arduaine peninsula on the west coast, south of Oban, with something to see every day of the year. This wonderful coastal garden forms a horticultural tour around the temperate world with a collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias, Blue Tibetan poppies, giant Himalayan lilies and Chatham Island forget-me-nots. Gardens and Designed Landscape Manager (Aberdeenshire and Angus)  
Salary: £39,848
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to deliver the overall Gardens and Designed Landscapes operational and technical leadership of heritage gardens within the North East region.

You will be based in Royal Deeside’s Crathes Estate within the National Trust for Scotland’s NE regional offices. This is a highly visible management role within the Regional Management Team and the most senior gardening post. This reflects the importance of heritage gardens management as visitor environments and the highest standard of practice.   More information

Salary £17,160.
